FAQ

How do I sign up for a tournament?

You can sign up the morning of the tournament or send an e-mail via our web site.

How much does it cost to join the FBT?

Annual membership fee:  $40 (calendar year)
WPBA Amateur membership fee:  $25 (optional)

Players electing not to join the WPBA will not be eligible to have points count towards earning an exempt spot on the WPBA.

What time do the FBT tournaments start?

Tournaments start right after the mandatory players meeting at 11:00.

Who can play on the FBT Regional Tour?

Any amateur player and any non-Exempt WPBA players.  However, we often have special rates for first-time players.

What is the FBT RT tournament format?

Each tournament is a modified, double elimination format. The race is to 7 on both sides. When the tournament is at four on the winners’ side and four on the one-loss side, the eight players are redrawn into a single elimination bracket. (Depending on the number of players, the redraw is at two on both sides.)

How much money is added?

A minimum of $250 is added by the host room. All player entry fees are paid back; however, 10% to 15% of the entry fees at each event are set aside for the End-of-Year event.

What are the 9-Ball rules?

We play Texas Express in all tournaments with the following local rules:

Alternating break, rack your own
9-ball in the corner pockets behind the rack are spotted
The 2-ball is placed directly behind the 9-ball on either side.

Is there a dress code?

Yes, the dress code is casual but respectful. No torn or dirty jeans or jeans with holes. T-shirts are allowable as long as there are no inappropriate images or text. Low cut or see- through blouses are not permitted.  See our Web site for more details.

How do I get to be a pro?

The qualifying process has recently changed. To play on the WPBA Tour you must join a WPBA-recognized Regional Tour and accumulate points during the year.  For 2012, you must at or near the top of your Regional Tour at the end of the year. The highest ranked player from each Regional Tour will earn their Exempt status for the following year.

What if I don’t want to be a pro?

You are still welcome to join the Flamingo Billiards Tour. We have players of various skill levels. Some of our players simply want to compete against the best female players in Florida. Others want to turn pro. It’s up to you, but either way we encourage you to join. You are sure to sharpen your game and meet lots of great women players.
